National Sight Week is almost here! During this weeklong celebration of volunteerism, members of the ASCRS Foundation’s Operation Sight Network are encouraged to contribute one or more charitable cataract surgeries within their communities. The ASCRS Foundation matches disadvantaged, eligible patients with volunteer surgeons, and provides a financial stipend for each surgery completed. Ziemer USA is assisting by donating the procedural packs needed to complete the cataract surgeries to the ophthalmology practices using the Ziemer Femtosecond Laser.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to partner with our doctors and their staff to help those in need,” said David Bragg, President of Ziemer USA. “By teaming up with the ASCRS Foundation, the doctors and practices who volunteer, many people who may never have the opportunity for cataract surgery are receiving the gift of better vision.”

If you would like to join Operation Sight and help end treatable cataract blindness in the United States for those who cannot afford care, check out their website and become an Operation Sight volunteer.

And a big shout out to participating doctors/practices using the Ziemer Femtosecond Laser for Operation Sight procedures so far this year:
